Dreanor compared to the Outlands


So in the new announced Expansion we're going back in time to dreanor, which is Outland before the explosion caused by all the Portals Gul'dan has set up. And Garrosh isn't the only one, that has changed since. The maps also look a little different.

TYDKaWoW #010 | You can see Azeroth from the Black Temple

I almost never look up in game. I have been a bunch of times in the Black Temple. I have been enough times in the Black Temple to get myself a pair of Warglaives of Azzinoth . But I never noticed, that you can actually see Azeroth in the sky. Every part of the raid, that takes place outside, you can just look up, and there the orb is. But why can we see it? Outlands and Azeroth isn't supposed to be so close to each other. If that were the case, we should be able to see it from anywhere in the Outlands? Well we got the lore explanation in a twitter thread, that started with the question, if Draenor and Azeroth are in the same solar system. The answer is no, they aren't. The answer to our question then still remains, but was answered a few tweets below. This wasn't answered by Blizzard directly, but the answer has been certified with a like from Ex-Lead Narrative Designer Dave Kosak. @useless740 @DaveK

TYDKaWoW #012 | Blizzards early Kalimdor Design was totally different

Well, not totally totally, but there are a bunch of changes. You might have seen a few early design maps for World of Warcraft floating around without sources , but this is certifiably the real deal. During the BlizzCon 2014 and for the 10th birthday of World of Warcraft, Blizzard shared a bunch of pictures from the early days. You could only find them online as blurry pictures of the monitor. And then Dave Wilson, who works as Talent Attraction Guy for Blizzard, shared the originals on his twitter account.  And now it's double legit. So what are the differences, between this early concept and the final product, that was shipped to the players? I did a little painting to make comparing the early design map and actual release a little easier. The early design has a color for each zone, with the dividing mountains in a brown, swimmable water in a light blue and a few connecting ways for the zones in yellow. Opening | 100x Thorium Lockbox

You get Thorium Lockboxes  from Mobs lvl 45-60 and they can contain about everything mobs of that level range could drop. Of course only green, rare or epic loot (except this bag ) and you'll get 1-3 Items out of one. You need Lockpicking skill 225 for them so any rogue lvl 45+ or a Engineer/Blacksmith with the right item can open it. This is what I got out of 100: 61x Transmog Gear (300.62G per) 29x Disenchant Items (25.31G per) 6x Vendor Items (9.78G) 6x Recipes (~25G per) 2x  Traveler's Backpack (49.82G per) 2x Star Ruby (5.60G per) 1x Aquamarine (4.14G per) =192.47G per Lockbox Without Transmog and disenchant instead =24.53G per Lockbox Don't forget to get the Glyph of Pick Lock  if you want to open as many as I did - I stood over 8minutes there just picking locks....
