Gold Guide | Farming Shadowfang Keep - 7,500G/hr

Here is some Information for you if you're thinking about farming Shadowfang Keep for Gold.

The Instance is Located in southern Silverpine Forest and has a huge Storyline to it, which horde players can follow before even entering the Instance with Quest in the Zone. Sadly this also means, that we're affected by boring speeches that only slow us down. On the good side, the route I'm taking only contains one of the speeches.

We start the Instance in a room full of Quest and Story NPC's. You then head into the right doorway and pull all the mobs up until the boss. Kill all the Trash before you go near the Boss. Once the Boss is dead the first Storypoint is reached and the Instance to this point fills with NPC's and the Trash will despawn. If you haven't looted/killed them yet - bad luck.

Now we have to wait for one of the NPC's to open the door, which takes about 30seconds. This time can be used perfectly to disenchant Items from previous runs. After the door is open we pull all Trash and only Stop for the Chests as seen on the Map to the right. There are always 3 Chests, which can spawn at any of the 9 locations depicted. They contain Mats, Greens and vendor-trash. Some of them are locked, so you may want to farm this on your rogue. I brought along some Explosives, which only cost around 2G to make and the content of the Chests cover these costs easily. Of course you can also just skip the locked ones, there aren't that many of them anyway. During my ten runs only 5/30 Chests were locked.


Even thought they are called Treasure Chests, the real treasure drops from the Trash mobs. The mobs in the Instance have the chance to drop some unique rare twink/transmog items, which are limited to this Instance. For example Shadowfang (45,000.00G), Gloomshroud Armor (27,500.00G) or Assassin's Blade (11,171.00G) which I got. Since there are so many of them, you have a realistic chance of getting one after a few runs.

On the Map you can see, that I don't finish the Instance. The last two bosses and under ~15 Trashmobs aren't worth the effort, especially because both of them have some extra waiting time due to the Storyline.

We turn around after the last Chest spawn point under a Stairway. You can perfectly stack the Trash mobs there, hence why I run past the chest on the roof, if it spawned. It would take extra time to round up the mobs on the roof, because you can't out line of sight them. We open that chest on our way back and then jump down the roof, landing perfectly in front of the portal. One run like this Takes about 6 minutes, making it perfect for the Instance limit. Here are my results for 10runs, I excluded the Assassin's Blade, because it's a rare drop:

Mining Route | Adamantite & Korium Ore

We are farming on the Isle of Quel'Danas. This is the route we will be farming and it's not that hard to follow because there are only about 13 spawn points that respawn fast enough so you can just run around the isle over and over and over again. Since Khorium shares their spawn points with rich Adamantite you will also get this if you farm long enough. You won't have competition either because people only go on the isle for Sunwell Plateau or Magisters' Terrace. TYDKaWoW #010 | You can see Azeroth from the Black Temple

I almost never look up in game. I have been a bunch of times in the Black Temple. I have been enough times in the Black Temple to get myself a pair of Warglaives of Azzinoth . But I never noticed, that you can actually see Azeroth in the sky. Every part of the raid, that takes place outside, you can just look up, and there the orb is. But why can we see it? Outlands and Azeroth isn't supposed to be so close to each other. If that were the case, we should be able to see it from anywhere in the Outlands? Well we got the lore explanation in a twitter thread, that started with the question, if Draenor and Azeroth are in the same solar system. The answer is no, they aren't. The answer to our question then still remains, but was answered a few tweets below. This wasn't answered by Blizzard directly, but the answer has been certified with a like from Ex-Lead Narrative Designer Dave Kosak. @useless740 @DaveK
