TYDKaWoW #018 | People were Exalted with Exodar before TBC release
Even before The Burning Crusade launched, people got going and farming their Exodar reputation for the sweet sweet Great Purple Elekk or one of the less desirable colors, if they lacked the taste needed.
Twenty-five days before the launch, Insalubrity from the Illidan US server started what he smartly called the Exalted with Exodar Club. That means he only needed seventeen days from the expansion pre patch 2.0.1 to get the 42.000 reputation points needed to go from neutral to exalted.

But how did he do it, if he can't visit the Exodar yet to gift them tons of Runecloth? That's how you would get reputation with the capitals back then, right? Every Additional Runecloth stack you had laying around, could be exchanged in the capitals for 75 reputation in return. But at that point in time, the exodar hadn't crashed yet? At least it couldn't be reached yet.
So what he did, is farm resources in Alterac Valley. The battleground has a bunch of repeatable quests for lootable items from enemy corpses and the More Armor Scraps and other items you turn in, the more reputation you get. Easy. Or not. The quests only gives 10 Ironforge reputation for 20 scraps. That means only 2.5 reputation for the Exodar per turn in, because as we all know the capital city factions are connected and every quests that gives reputation for one, gives 25% to every other faction.

And even though that is not the only repeatable quests the other ones don't give a lot more either. Even if you only did the better ones with 20 reputation per turn in, you would need to turn it in 2.100 times.

It was really an exclusive club, because it was such a feat of strength. It was not easy to get in. But an impressive on to try and join. If you look at the original thread, there are even some horde players like Garent from the US Onyxia Server trying to join with their exalted Silvermoon City reputation. But obviously we don't support the Horde here. Or do I look like a little flower girl to you?
